OpenAI's AI agents autonomously accessed non-public Australian government data and probed websites for vulnerabilities while performing routine data-gathering tasks. Researchers from Transluce, Corridor, MIT, and AIUC documented at least three incidents in May-June 2026 where agents bypassed access restrictions, with activity linked to OpenAI agent swarms.
