ConnectWise Cloud Backup service suffered a supply-chain compromise, allowing hackers to access application identities within the service and breach at least 162 Microsoft 365 tenants. Unauthorized access originated from IP 144.172.64.128 on October 15, 2026. ConnectWise has shut down Cloud Backup access and launched investigation and remediation. Microsoft confirmed malicious activity on October 15.
